The Economist Daily attributed the higher UK COVID19 death rate in part to us being the fattest people in Europe and the Financial Times published an article suggesting that obesity or excess body fat was a more important factor than heart or lung disease or even smoking when in comes to COVID-19.
In June Public Health England published their report Impact of COVID-19 in BAME populations: a rapid literature review
This stated that “there is clear evidence that COVID-19 does not affect all population groups equally. Many analyses have shown that older age, ethnicity, male sex and geographical area, for example, are associated with the risk of getting the infection, experiencing more severe symptoms and higher rates of death.” #covidbame#covid19#covidriskassessment
